After a Three Month Long Hiatus, The Durrrr Challenge is Back On
Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Patrik Antonius finally sat down for the “durrrr” Challenge after a more than three month hiatus. The two met early Sunday morning on Full Tilt Poker to play 280 hands over the course of one 50 minute session. Antonius booked a $244,599 win which helped to shorten Dwan’s massive $1.6 million lead. The swings were huge throughout the night with two pots that totaled more than $150,000 and Antonius was lucky enough to win both of them.
In the first major hand Dwan opened for $1,200 on the button, and Antonius called from the big blind. The flop revealed 7H 5H 3S, and Antonius made a $2,400 donk-bet into the pot. Dwan raised to $8,500 and Antonius three-bet to $27,900. Dwan repotted to $86,100 and Antonius called all-in for $78,997. Dwan turned over KS 8H 6H 4C for the nut straight and Antonius showed AH 4H 3H 3C for bottom set and an ace-high flush draw. The 5C on the turn gave Antonius a full house and the 9S missed Dwan’s remaining outs.
Shortly after that Antonius kicked off a preflop raising war with Dwan by opening for $1,200. Dwan reraised $3,600, Antonius four-bet to $6,000 and Dwan five-bet to $18,000. Antonius called and the flop fell JS 10H 7C. Dwan bet $36,000 and Antonius moved all-in for $94,196. Dwan called with his remaining $74,790. Although Dwan had a better preflop hand with AS QC JC 5S he only flopped the top pair while Antonius hit the straight nut with QH 9C 8D 5D. Dwan improved to two pair and picked up a flush draw on the turn but the river blanked out and Antonius won the $185,579 pot.
10,746 hands remain in the “durrrr” Challenge. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
