The Amazing Story of How One Man Turned $1 into $27K Playing Poker
Bodog Poker player Dennis Scott may have busted out of the World Series of Poker during Day 5 but his journey to the tournament was so exciting that it’s still managed to snag some headlines.
The Michigan factory supervisor managed to turn a $1 satellite tournament win into the trip of a lifetime winning satellite after satellite until his Main Event seat was guaranteed.
“Yeah, one dollar! Pretty great, huh? I won a little money; how can I complain, right? It’s pretty amazing. I’m the big talk of the town right now,” said Scott during a recent interview.
Considering that Scott had never competed in the WSOP before his cash at the Main Event was pretty impressive. It’s tough to play such a large tournament and even such noted pros as Scotty Nguyen, Jason Mercier, Vanessa Selbst, Sam Farha, Jason Somerville, Alex Jacob, and Allie Prescott, fell by the waste side during Day 5 of play.
Asked what he would have done differently Scott said, “I think I actually played everything I did right for the most part. When you reach the end, of course, you always see what you did wrong… Even when I walked away from there I thought to myself ‘Yeah, I did about the best that I could.’”
Overall Scott said that it was a great experience and he was happy to have gotten to enjoy it all for only a dollars investment.
Satellites are where it’s at and as Scott story shows us Bodog is the perfect place to win big.
