Asian Poker Tour Philippines Stop Coming in August

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) will return to Manila in just 41 days with an APT Philippines 2010 event. Scheduled to run from August 23rd to the 29th at the Resorts World Manila complex the seven-day No Limit Texas Hold’em Main Event will cost players approximately $2,500 + US $200 USD to enter.

Last year’s APT Philippines main event winner Neil Arce took home approximately $185,000 USD and became the first local player to win an international poker tournament held in the Philippines. Arce will be looking to defend his title but he will have a tough field to beat as pros from around the world are expected to turn out in Manila.

Players can reserve seats to the event by pre-paying, qualifying online or by winning a land-based satellite. Many online poker rooms including PKR, the iPoker Network, and PartyPoker are already holding qualifiers to the APT Philippines 2010 Main Event and land-based satellites are being held at Resorts World Manila and at select locations across the globe.

This will be the first year that Resorts World Manila serves as host. The newly opened complex features the only six-star hotel in the Philippines, world-class dining, and a sprawling casino.
