Durrrr Challenge: Dwan Seals the Deal with Jungleman12
Daniel “jungleman12″ Cates recently announced that he and Tom “durrrr” Dwan will battle it out in a new durrrr challenge. The challenge which was laid down by Dwan offers players a shot at $1.5 million dollars. To win players simply need to play 50,000 hands of online heads-up No Limit Hold’Em or Pot Limit Omaha at stakes of $200/$400 on four tables simultaneously and end up in the lead. If they can beat out the online champ they will be generously awarded but if they don’t it will cost them $500,000.
So far, the only person who has competed in the durrrr challenge is Patrik Antonius and after a nearly a year of sporadic play the Finnish pro is over $2 million down.
The match between jungleman12 and Dwan is likely to be quite a bit closer. Both players are avid online players who are use to multi-tabling at high stakes. Jungleman12 coaches for Cardrunners and has reputation for dominating whatever kind of poker he puts his mind. Many believe this challenge will go a lot faster then Dwan’s epic saga with Antonius because both players are seasoned online pros who are well accustomed to putting in long hours at the virtual felt.
While no official date has been set for the challenge to kick off, Dwan has already begun trash talking. He voiced his confidence in the Full Tilt Poker chat box recently by saying, “I can start talking shit since we’re booked and say that it’s cute u think u’ll ever have an edge. ”
We’ll keep you posted on the latest developments until then let the psychological games begin.
