Durr's New Poker Challenge
High stakes cash game specialist Tom “Durrrr” Dwan agreed to take part in the Million Dollar Challenge scheduled to take place this upcoming September in London. Well, he’s no longer alone. As of today, Sammy “Any Two” George is the first player to have accepted Dwan’s challenge. In addition, three other players have also reportedly signed on, however their identities have yet to be revealed.
The rules to the Durrrr Million Dollar Live Challenge are quite simple: Dwan will take on each of his opponents for a total of 500 hands. They will be playing Pot Limit Omaha and the blinds will be set at $500/$1,000. The tournament is being promoted by Matchroom Sport; they have stated that no one can get up during the match until either they busted or the 500 hands are complete.
At the moment, Dwan is the middle of an online million dollar challenge against Patrik Antonius. The match has been stalled since June and no news of its return has yet been reported.
Sammy George, Dwan’s first challenger, is a London based professional poker player. Last December he finished 6th in the Poker Million tournament against pros such as David “Devilfish” Ulliott, Marty Smyth, Roy Brindley and Tony G. George also frequently competes in the World Poker Tour. (Source: Gambling911)
