EPT Vilamoura: Martin Jacobson Running Hot In Yet Another Live Event
Day 3 of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Vilamoura event is over and 24 players remain in the running for the title and the €467,835 first place prize.
Martin Jacobson who qualified for the event through a PokerStars satellite will have the chip lead heading into Day 4 and Jason “Jaspuduf” Lee & Kevin O’Donnell will be the only two Americans left in the field when players hit the felt this afternoon. All of the remaining players will finish in the money so expect players to bring their best game possible.
Rob Hollink who currently sits fifth in chips appears to be in a good position to become the first ever two-time EPT Main Event champion. Jacobson may have a nearly two to one chip advantage over Hollink going into Day 4 but he has a proven history of coming up just short at EPT events which could spell good news for Hollink.
A total of 384 players entered the €5,000 buy-in event creating a prize pool of €1,862,400.
Here is a look at the chip leaders heading into the Day 4:
1. Martin Jacobson - 1,362,000
2. Marco Leonzio - 778,000
3. Guillermo Garcia - 766,000
4. Sam Trickett - 712,000
5. Rob Hollink - 696,000
6. Sergio Coutinho - 635,000
7. Nicolo Calia - 609,000
8. Jason Lee - 600,000
9. Erik Van Den Berg - 554,000
