ESPN2 Getting Ready to Broadcast the NAPT
ESPN2 will begin broadcasting the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) on Monday April 19th. Viewers will be able to tune in every Monday at 10:00PM EST to catch two more episodes each week for five exciting weeks of action.
ESPN’s voices of poker Lon McEachern and Norman Chad will provide commentary for the broadcast and Supermodel Joana Krupa will add her own insights while providing plenty of eye candy to viewers.
The NAPT made only three stops this year but each had a strong player turn out. Just a few of the big names to be featured in the broadcast include Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu and Vanessa Selbst.
While some may have heard the results already it doesn’t take away from the broadcast its self. Not only does watching the players banter add to the appeal but watching how the professionals play their hand can definitely help boost ones overall game which is part of NAPT’s goal.
Global Poker Tour Director, Jeffrey Hass, hopes that airing the NAPT installments will inspire people to go out and win an event of their own, “It will make the NAPT an aspirational event and will drive a lot more people to compete. Not only will they want to win the money and have the opportunity to compete at the highest level, but let’s face it: The dream of poker players everywhere is to win a poker tournament on ESPN. That’s what we’re giving them.”
