First Integrated Webcam Online Poker Site Launched
Tom Horn Enterprises has developed something that is sure to get poker fans excited. It’s being called “the world’s first online poker room with integrated webcams.”
The use of the webcams isn’t mandatory at FacePokerLive.com but the Managing Director of Diamond Bay and partner in the site, Jim Harwey, says, “Seeing their rival’s face and the possibility to talk is a crucial element for us to launch a completely new poker room.”
“In 2010, the whole industry was waiting for something really new and I am really proud to announce that FacePokerLive.com is a new thing to the player. We would like to attract not just poker players currently bored by the same-game-again but also completely new players who love poker and its live form but who could not find a common online world interesting for them. Our target market is primarily Central Europe.”
The web-based software uses the Adobe Flash platform, and is available on all of the standard computer platforms. Mac, PC and Linux players will all get a chance to look a player in the eyes and see if they are bluffing.
This new trend could be very revolutionary for the industry. Typical online poker games seem to have distanced themselves from the social aspect of the game which many find to be the most enjoyable part. Webcam’s can’t replace real face to face contact but they can help encourage players to chit chat and get a feel for each other while they’re playing.
We here at PokerShark.com look forward to seeing how this pans out.
