Football Superstar Juan Sebastian Veron Signs with PokerStars

PokerStars has added yet another talented athlete to its list of sports ambassadors. Argentinean football star, Juan Sebastian Veron has recently joined the leading poker room to appeal to the site’s Latin American audience.
According to a press release, Veron is featured in a new PokerStars.net ad running in the Latin American countries across the world, and once the World Cup concludes Veron will star in future ads.
Sarne Lightman, managing director of PokerStars Latin America, said, “It is truly a pleasure for us to have Verón as an Ambassador for PokerStars.net. His sporting and competitive spirit embodies the values of our brand and we feel very proud that this great soccer player decided to represent the number one poker site in the world.”
Veron nicknamed “The Brujita,” currently plays for Estudiantes de la Plata and is also a part of team Argentina at this year’s World Cup in South Africa.
The 35-year-old midfielder first made a name for himself in Serie A with Lazio before playing for Manchester United, Chelsea, and Inter Milan. He has made many accomplishments as a football star including being named South American Player of the Year for the past two consecutive years.
Full House B says: This is a smart move by PokerStars. Veron’s popularity alone makes him a valuable asset to the PokerStars franchise, and the time they picked to announce his signage couldn’t have been better.
