FOX to air PokerStars Big Game June 14th
The “PokerStars Big Game” is set to air Monday, June 14th on FOX affiliates. The one-hour show will air five nights a week with air times ranging between 1:00am and 2:00am in the morning.
Each episode will pair up five of the biggest names in the game with one PokerStars qualifier. No official announcement has been made about the exact lineup of players that will be featured but Daniel Negreanu, Vanessa Rousso, Barry Greenstein, Phil Hellmuth, Freddy Deeb, Tony G, Phil Laak, Doyle Brunson and Todd Brunson have all been confirmed as participants.
The “Big Game” will consist of a $200/$400 No Limit Hold’em game with a $100 ante. Each player can buy in at the minimum of $100,000 or they can buy in at a maximum of $500,000. PokerStars understands that this may be a little steep for the average player which is why they are running a new promotion.
Looking for a “Loose Cannon” to join network television’s newest poker show the site has already begun hosting free Big Game qualifier tournaments. Players in the U.S. and Canada can play in these free-to-enter Big Game Round 1 qualifiers up to four times a day from March 26th-June 25th. All the participants will be ranked on a leader board and the top 300 players at the end of each of those tournaments will get a pass to Round 2. If you can manage to finish in the top 1,000 there then it’s on to the finals. The top 200 at the Big Game Final Round qualifier will be asked to send in a casting video to explain why they deserve to be on the show. It will then be up to PokerStars to decide your fate. Impress them and you’ll be going to Las Vegas to face-off against some of the biggest names in the game.
