France Poker Series Announced by PokerStars.com

The world’s most popular online poker site, PokerStars.com has just announced a brand new live tour. The new series of poker tournaments has been named the France Poker Series and will include seven separate events in seven different locations across France. Each of the tournaments will include a €1,200 buy-in which leads up to the Grand Final in Paris, a €2,500 buy-in championship. Poker players will be happy to hear that by logging onto PokerStars.com, they can participate in freerolls and cash satellites that can earn them a seat to a France Poker Series event.

The series will be welcoming PokerStars pros to the events according to the new FPS website. “This highly anticipated poker tour will bring the stars to your home town. Come play with Team PokerStars Pros Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Arnaud Mattern and Thomas Bichon,” explains the site. “You’ve seen them on television, now you can play against them live!”

Each of the €1,200 buy-in events will have a guaranteed prize pool of €300,000, making this one of the most exciting series of poker events to ever hit Europe. Each winner of one of the tour’s events will be automatically entered into the tour’s main event in Paris. This tour is a poker player’s dream and will have them traveling across some of the most wonderful cities of the world while enjoying their favorite game.

The first event to kick off the France Poker Series is Beaulieu-ser-Mer and will begin on May 1, 2010 at the Casino Partouche. This will be followed by Divonne-les-Eauxin on the 25th and 26th of September, Saint-Armand-les-Eaux on October 17th, Lyon on November 13th and 14th and Forges-les-Eaux on the 18th and 19th of December and all taking place at Casino Partouche. The Grand Final of the France Poker Series will be in February 2011 at the Cercle Haussmann in Paris.

Freerolls and cash satellites are currently running on PokerStars.com for the Beaulieu-sur-Mer event with buy-ins starting at just €5.50. The freeroll qualifiers are only available to players in mainland France but the satellites are open to players in Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. Satellites can be found by signing up for an account at PokerStars and clicking on the Tourney tab in the lobby. Next select Regional and there you will find the list of qualifiers for the France Poker Series’ inaugural event.
