Full Tilt's Biggest Winners and Losers of the Year
HighStakesDB.com has announced the biggest Full Tilt winners and losers list for 2010. Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Daniel “jungleman12” Cates were named the most profitable players at Full Tilt while Full Tilt Poker Pro Brian “sbrugby” Townsend and Gus Hansen were said to be the farthest in the red.
As of Sunday, Dwan has racked up an astounding $4,028,872 in winnings and Cates is not far behind with $4,001,593 in profits. A good portion of Cates profits have come from Dwan. The two have been facing off in the second edition of the Durrrr Challenge and Cates has taken an amazing $657,774 from Dwan over the course of the first 7,660 hands. Should Cates come out on top at the end of the 50,000 hand challenge, Dwan will owe him an additional $1.5 million. If Dwan can turn it around however and come out on top at the end of the challenge, Cates will have to forfeit $500,000 of his overall profits.
It shouldn't surprise anyone that Phil Ivey was third on the list. Ivey has accrued more than $3 million in profits over the year despite playing relatively few sessions. Ivey is the single most profitable all-time online player. Since HighStakesDB launched in 2007 he has won an impressive $18,747,970.
Other players featured in the top 10 include Andreas “skjervoy” Torbergsen who has earned $2.5 million, “LokoIsBack” who has earned $2.44 million, Jared “harrington25″ Bleznick who has earned $2.4 million, Alexander “PostflopAction” Kostritsyn who has earned $1.63 million, David Benefield who has earned $1.36 million, “NEKOTYAN” who has earned $1.24 million, and Ashton “theASHMAN103″ Griffin who has amassed $1.23 million.
Brian “sbrugby” Townsend was named the biggest loser of the year. He is down nearly $4 million, so far, having lost $2.53 million on his Red Pro account before stepping down as CardRunners’ lead instructor to focus on his game. Since then he has lost another $1.4 million under the screen name “sbrugby” leaving one to wonder if stepping down from his post was really the best idea.
Gus Hansen who came in second has lost more than $3.67 million this year. The “Great Dane” won his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet earlier this month but the £228,409 payday must be bitter sweet since it does nothing to make up for his massive losses online.
Other players in the bottom 10 include “Matatuk” with $1.54 million in losses, Cole South with $1.45 million in losses, Justin “ZeeJustin” Bonomo with $1.44 million in losses, Rafi “howisitfeellike” Amit with 1.31 million in losses, “Esvedra” with $1.3 million in losses, Richard Ashby with $1.29 million in losses, and “PixKim” who is $1.2 million in the whole.
