Jennifer Harman’s ASPCA Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament a Success
Jennifer Harman’s Fourth Annual Celebrity Poker Tournament was a raging success. Stars from across the country turned out at The Venetian’s Poker Room on Tuesday to help benefit the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Just a few of the big names to have competed for the title included Holly Madison, Lou Diamond Philips, Dennis Haskins, Robert Iler, Shaun Sipos, Louie Anderson, Carrot Top, Jennifer Tilly, Nancy Brunson, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Andy Block and Michelle Lawson.
The big winner of the night though was three time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Chau Giang. After a hard night of play he walked away with the title, a crystal trophy, a Curtis watch and a seat to the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event valued at $10,000. Runner up was Michelle Lawson who received a second place Trophy, a Curtis watch and a 2010 THROW DOWN Package.
“It’s always a great tournament for a great cause,” Jennifer Harman said recently. “We get wonderful support from the Las Vegas celebrities, and each year it gets bigger and better, so we will really be celebrating for our fifth next year.”
“Poker players are givers and all you have to do is ask and they come. Most of them have big hearts and a lot of them are animal lovers. They enjoy being able to give. I think they have it in their hearts that they want to help.”
No news yet on just how much the event raised but judging by the turn out the money should go a long way towards helping animals in need.
