Justin Young Gives Back

Poker players are known for being incredibly giving. With events such as Ante Up for Africa, the players ensure that charities get treated right. Poker pro Justin Young is no different. Along with a group of fellow poker professionals, Young is putting together a charity poker tournament on July 24th to benefit the Homestead at Boulder City.

Homestead at Boulder City is a popular assisted living facility that’s run by Volunteers of America. Within the last two weeks, the facility has lost 18 elderly residents.

"Being a volunteer at the Homestead is incredibly rewarding," said activities director Deborah Patterson to PokerListings, "But these people and their families become one's own. It's been a difficult time for all of us. We're in need of emergency funding and support."

Young is organizing the first annual “Forget Me Not” charity poker tournament. It’s open to the public and will feature many famous poker players, including Jennifer Harman, Lee Watkinson, Lacey Jones, Jon Friedberg, Cyndy Violette, Pamela Brunson, Bertrand Grospellier, Jeff Madsen and Marco Traniello.

The charity event, put on by Rockwell Watches, will take place at the M Resort Spa and Casino. For those who wish to play, the cost to enter is $200+$20 with $30 unlimited rebuys for the first three levels.

Half of the proceeds will benefit the Homestead at Boulder City, while the other half will go towards the winners who make the final table. Along with prize money, the winner will receive a Rockwell Time sports watch.
