Long Session Put In for the Durrrr Challenge II: Jungleman12 Widens Lead Significantly
Durrrr Challengers Dan “Jungleman12” Cates and Tom “Durrrr” Dwan got back to the grind on Monday night where they played a very lengthy stretch of heads up poker.
For the first ever session of 2011, the two played for around 6 hours logging an impressive 2,918 hands during that time period. They played some extremely intense heads up No Limit Hold’em at the $200/$400 stakes.
The session did not go in favor of Dwan even though the previous few sessions saw him digging himself back out of the hole. Monday night however was a difficult one for Dwan and a major victory for Cates. All of Dwan’s hard work was in vain because Cates won a total of $319,103.50 that night.
Now, a little more than 17,000 hands have been played of the 50,000 required for the challenge and Cates is certainly sitting pretty with an $819,213.50 advantage over his challenger.
There were a slew of massive pots on Monday night including the biggest one of the challenge thus far. The monster sized 216,505.50 pot was taken down by Cates where both opponents had flushes.
Here is a look at some of the stats so far for the Durrrr Challenge II:
Total amount wagered: $113,107,111.50
Jungleman12 Ahead $819,213.50
Total Hands Played: 17,108
