Online Poker Site PKR.com Partners with Charity to Help Africa
PKR.com will be teaming up with Ante Up for Africa. The two have agreed to a twelve month partnership agreement in which PKR players will be able to do a lot to help support poker’s best known charity. As part of the agreement the site will be hosting a series of games, tournaments and promotions designed to spread awareness and raise funds for the cause.
“Everyone in poker has the utmost admiration and respect for the work that Ante Up For Africa does year in, year out. It has proved itself to be an important part of the wider poker community, and it made perfect sense for us to link in our social responsibility programme,” said Marketing Director at PKR, Simon Prodger.
To show their support PKR team members will soon be wearing the Ante Up for Africa logo to tournaments. Wearing something to events is always a great way to advertise and get the word out after all that is typically why online casinos sponsor professionals in the first place. It may not seem like much but it could go a long way towards raising additional funds.
Ante Up for Africa co-founder Don Cheadle seems very happy with their new arrangement. He recently stated, “We’re hopeful that our association with PKR and its loyal fan base will help to raise awareness and provide relief for people suffering in a devastating humanitarian crisis.”
Fellow co-sponsor Annie Duke praised the site’s decision saying, “Once again we are seeing the tremendous generosity of the poker community. We are so appreciative of PKR’s support.”
