The site announced recently that they held a one of a kind event entitled “The World’s Largest Poker Game” referring not to the amount of players in attendance, but to the size of their cards- and chips for that matter.

Members of the England Rugby Team, an official partner of PokerStars have come together to participate in this larger than life event to set a new type of record for the site. The game included some of the most aggressive players to bring fierce competition to the event including England rugby stars James Haskell (Stade Francais), Ben Foden (Northhampton Saints), and Delon Armitage (London Irish).

The game went down at the Pennyhill Park Hotel in Bagshot, Surrey where the athlete’s muscles came in handy as they were asked to haul mega sized versions of card decks and huge chips out of a semi for the unusual card game to come.

During the battle on the felt, the dealer had to buckle down on the boys, asking them to behave as the competition broke out between Foden and Haskell. The two certainly brought the right atmosphere to the table with constant raises and re-raises. Foden was victorious though, and Haskell didn’t take well to losing as he sought out revenge in “true rugby style,” according to PokerStars.com.
