Software Providers Struggle to Stay Compatible with PokerStars and Full Tilt Upgrades
Last week PokerStars and Full Tilt, the top two online poker sites in the business, worked to resolve issues by updating their software. Usually, these updates go unnoticed and are not unusual, but these particular upgrades have been found to be incompatible with some 3rd party software providers. The problem has become quite a priority as several of the applications will need to be upgraded in order to maintain compatibility with the sites new software changes.
Full Tilt players were experiencing some technical difficulties while playing poker online. Being a trusted and responsible site, they worked quickly to alleviate the problems which included a minor issue where players experienced excessive lag issues trying to log onto the site. Mac users were having an even bigger technical problem. They were being dealt cards facedown, which caused them to play blindly. There were reports of other users facing disconnection to the game server and the loss of money paid to pots before the disconnection occurred.
Lag issues were also a concern for PokerStars players. PokerStars programmers worked devotedly to solve the awarding of only partial Frequent Player Points and to synchronize breaks for multi-table tournaments.
Some 3rd party software companies have withdrawn from working with the sites and others have been working hard to provide compatibility updates. PlayerGPS.com can no longer be used with Full Tilt but PokerTracker is working to solve any incompatibility issues that are unresolved.
Once the updates are complete, the third party software will be usable again. These two sites are now running like clockwork to provide its player the best possible online poker experience available on the net.
