Tom "durrrr" Dwan Loses $1 million in a Single Day
Every player goes through their ups and downs. Tom “durrrr” Dwan has certainly learned this lesson well throughout his career with his very aggressive playing style. He has gained quite a reputation over the years for his superior skill level and his never say die approach to the game.
In a bad season high rollers like Dwan have been known to lose as much as a million dollars and on Sunday and that is just what he did. That evening he took on a good range of players only to find that his typical bravado was not enough, he was crushed by his competitors and found that his usually deep pockets were coming up empty.
Coming off a good run, this bad spell brought down his yearly results to just slightly profitable. He is now down over $1 million on the year again. It wasn’t just a couple of unlucky breaks either. The player barely managed to build up any momentum. Skeptics worry that this could be the beginning of an even larger losing streak.
The game of course was his usual $300/$600 Pot-Limit Omaha at Full Tilt poker. His biggest loss of the day was a pot worth just over a quarter of a million dollars to player Ziigmund from which he just couldn’t seem to recover.
Hopefully Dwan will be able to pull himself out of this loss. He’s pulled himself up from worse before. We’ll keep you posted.
