Tom Dwan and Cadillac1944 Face Off on Full Tilt and It's Bad News for Durrrr
The Durrrr Challenge may have resumed but that hasn't stopped Tom “durrrr” Dwan from making headlines over the past seven days with an entirely unrelated online battle. Dwan and Cadillac1944 have been involved in a week long $500-$1,000 pot-limit Omaha battle that has been garnering quite a bit of attention.
Dwan and cadillac1944 met on the virtual felt on Tuesday for some high stakes action. The $500-$1000 stakes level on Full Tilt Poker has been pretty empty for the last couple months so fans were eager to see how it would all play out. There were several large pots throughout the night but one massive pot reached more than $550,000.
In the hand cadillac1944 had the button and decided to raise to $3,000. Dwan then three-bet to $9,000 from the big blind and cadillac1944 called. The flop revealed 10C 8C 2D and Dwan bet $13,000. Cadillac raised to $57,000 and Dwan took things up a notch raising to $189,000. Not to be outdone, cadillac raised yet again to $378,000 and Dwan called all-in for just under $250,000. Dwan exposed 9C 5C 7H 6H, and cadillac1944 revealed AC KC 6C 9D. The flop provided no additional help to either and cadillac1944 scooped up the massive pot ending their session.
By the end of the night, Dwan lost nearly $750,000 to cadillac1944 and dropped about $200,000 in other matches. He ended the day, down nearly $1 million but still remains one of the biggest winners of the year.
Dwan isn't the only player experiencing a bit of a downswing, David Benefield lost nearly $600,000 in a recent face off with Patrik Antonius.
With high-stakes action picking up on Full Tilt Poker there is now telling who will end up on top at the end of the year.
