Charlie “CHAZ_MAN_C” Combes came out on top at Sunday’s Ultimate Bet Online Championship. The Monster Stack No Limit Hold’em Event drew 1,032 players creating a prize pool that surpassed the tournament guarantee of $1 million dollars by $32,000.
The event was hosted by UltimateBet sponsored pro Phil Hellmuth and as usual it attracted a number of poker pros. Faraz “The-Toilet” Jaka, Scott Ian, and Eric Baldwin were just of the well known players to turn out to compete. UltimateBet sponsored pro Billy “Patrolman35” Kopp competed admirably for his site but ultimately bubbled the final table showing just how talented many of the amateurs were at this weekend’s competition.
Briton player Combes had the lead going into the final table. He came out on top of the pack following a four-way chop in which he turned a pair of queens for the high pair. In addition to the title and the prize money Combes also received a championship watch. Combes has been on the radar since March when won both the Full Tilt Poker $1k Monday for $93,000 and the Titan Poker $250,000 Guaranteed for $59,000. No word yet on how he plans to spend his new fortune.
