WSOP Main Event Last Woman Standing Trophy Goes to Breeze Zuckerman

Breeze Zuckerman became the last female standing at the 2010 WSOP Main Event before ultimately being eliminated during Day 6 of play. In her final hand of the match Zuckerman went all-in on a king ten not knowing that Eric Baldwin carried pocket aces. She would finish in 121st place with $57,102.

Zuckerman seems pleased with her performance despite her elimination. "It was pretty amazing," she said. "It's going to take a long time for any emotion to sink in. I'm completely overwhelmed."

Born and raised in Israel, Zuckerman wasn’t even aware of poker until she moved to the States 14 years ago.

"I never knew what poker was and I didn't even know the hand values," she said. "I liked it though and eventually made it to the casino to play. The rest is history."

Zuckerman currently plays poker professionally but next month she will be heading back to school to start work on her Masters Degree in Psychology. Though Zuckerman lacks the bombshell appearance of many of the former last women standing (i.e. Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho) she more than proved that she is a force to be reckoned with.

"It was a nice treat," she commented about being the last woman standing. "I mean I came here to play poker, it didn't matter if I played guys or girls."

Although Zuckerman admitted she was a little disappointed about her elimination as she left the Rio, she says that she can’t help but have a positive outlook on her journey.
"It's not disappointment," she said. "Right now it hurts like hell and I'm trying to remind myself of the accomplishment and I'm hoping at some point soon I'm going to be able to marvel at what I achieved."

The 2010 WSOP continues now through July 17. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
