View Full Version : Best site for minnows (newbies)?
Can anyone recommend from personal experience a good site to play poker on for someone new to poker in general?

I cannot name a specific site exactly, but I can say that a very effective way to learn is by using the practice modes of the online casinos before playing for money. That way you dont get swallowed whole by a shark and you learn the basic understanding of how to play. I use this method myself and it is very helpful to me!;)

I was looking for a good sight to play for people who are new to poker and found that Noble Poker has an amazing section dedicated to beginning players! It really is awesome and is worth checking out!:)

Hey Matt, have you found the right site yet? If not you should defiantly check out the Poker Reviews section on this site. It was very helpful for me.

Over the past couple of years I have heard a lot of things about just about all the online poker rooms and I have to say that for fish, it's best to stick to smaller sites because the players there are not as scary as some of the ones over at Full Tilt or Stars. That doesnt mean that those arent good sites though because they are. Especially Full Tilt for their poker academy.
But if I was going to recommend one poker room where fish can really enjoy themselves without being next to a shark at every table, then I would have to say PartyPoker would be the best pick. It has been researched to have the least amount of sharks playing.
Wrote something on it a while back here- http://www.pokershark.com/blog/most-fish-are-playing-partypoker-making-it-easiest-place-play
