Dates of the Women's World Open IV Announced

The dates of this year’s PartyPoker.com Women’s World Open have been officially announced. This year’s annual contest will be hosted in London, England and will take place March 23rd thru the 24th.

The best female pros in the business are expected to be in attendance. Many top players including Team Party Member Kara Scott, Betfair pro Annette Obrestad and former Women’s World Open winners Aisling Collins and Soraya Homam, have already confirmed their plans to compete in this year’s competition. Other pros scheduled to make an appearance include Laurence Grondin, Shelley Rubenstein, Stefanie Bergener, Maria Demetriou, Christine Klecz, and Pippa Flanders.

The tournament will feature a $72,000 prize pool with $3,000 buy-ins. The first round will consist of three separate deep-stacked eight handed heats. The top two players from each of these heats will keep any chips they’ve earned and move on to the final table.

There is already a lot of excitement surrounding the competition. This is the fourth year that PartyPoker has hosted the contest and so far it has gained quite a following.

"The PartyPoker.com Women's World Open has proved extremely popular with players, viewers and broadcasters over the last three seasons," said Matchroom Sport director Eddie Hearn.

Already debate has begun as to who will come out first in this year’s competition. A PartyPoker spokesperson had their own ideas which they shared in a recent statement, "Last year Aisling proved that Britain's got talent, but the same can be said about Japan in the form of Wooka Kim," said a PartyPoker spokesperson. "Both will be strong contenders for the title this year. We've made the stacks deeper and the competition is just as fierce."

Full coverage of the event will initially be broadcasted on Five in the UK later this year but it will eventually be distributed internationally. Commentary for the TV broadcast will be provided by Jesse May, with presenting duties split between Kara Scott and Tatjana Pasilic.

Keep your eyes out for the winner.
