Durrrr Challenge II: Jungleman12 Up Nearly $700k So Far

Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Daniel “jungleman12” Cates once again hit the felt for the durrrr Challenge on Monday. The two logged another 958 hands for a total of 6,820 hands of poker.Now, only a week into the challenge the two are nearly a quarter of the way through the 50,000 hand challenge and for the moment Cates is in the lead with $692,400 in profits.

Cates raked in two six-figure pots during their latest session including a $122,377.50 pot which devastated Dwan’s stack. Dwan continuously reraised while chasing a flush but Cates called each time and ended up on top with an Ace top pair. In another major pot, Cates flopped a pair of aces and improved to the nut flush by the river earning $115,000.

Cates did not take all the major pots of the day however. Dwan raked in an impressive $131,588.50 with three of a kind ten leaving Cates with a measly $64,000. Unfortunately, the hand proved to be of little help in the long run as Cates ended the night with an additional $172,954 in profits.

Dwan may be off to a rough start but there is still plenty of time to turn things around. As always we’ll keep you posted on the latest developments.
