European Poker Tour Berlin's Huge Turnout Creates Massive Prize Pool

The officials of the European Poker Tour were caught off guard at the astonishing number of players that showed up for day 1a and 1b of the EPT Berlin event. They had absolutely no idea that the tournament would draw such an enormous crowd of entrants.

For day 1a, 389 players showed up to participate and on day 1b another 557 came through the doors for a shot at the EPT Berlin championship making a total of 945 players. This makes the Berlin event one of the largest EPT events on record and certainly the biggest for Germany.

Day 1b concluded with Tu Tuan To leading the way with 212,600 in chips which is just a bit below day 1a chip leader Kfir Yumin with 213,500 chips. 144 players will be taking home a piece of the €4,725,000 monster sized prize pool created by the event’s apparent popularity. The five day event featured a buy-in of €5,300.
