Full Tilt Groupe Bernard Tapie Buyout Held Up By Pros Owing The Company Millions of Dollars?
Many prior Full Tilt Poker players have been watching with intensive interest as the deal slowly progresses for the buyout of the company by Groupe Bernard Tapie.
Recently one of the men handling the acquisition, Laurent Tapie, has confessed to the public that several poker pros owe money to Full Tilt to the tune of about $16.5 million.
Laurent Tapie commented on the situation and talked about how he feels that former players of the site that are waiting to receive their long lost bankrolls deserve to know what’s going on and what the holdup is all about.
Tapie mentioned the names and figures of many poker pros and the alleged amount owed to the company. According to Tapie, Mike Matusow and Layne Flack each owe $700,000 and Barry Greenstein owes $400,000. That’s nothing compared to some of the former Full Tilt pros. Phil Ivey and David Benyamine allegedly owe $4 million and $2 million respectively.
Matusow came forward on Twitter saying, “For all my fans out there, just to let u all know I don’t owe full tilt anything why my name is mentioned I don’t know.”
Some pros have already come forward to make arrangements to pay back their loans but others are not quick to give money without knowing it will go directly to players that are owed money.
