Isildur1 Verses Issac Haxton PokerStars SuperStar Showdown Recap
Thousands flocked to the rails at PokerStars.com on Sunday to watch Isildur1 compete in his first SuperStar Showdown. Isaac “philivey2694” Haxton was the first challenger to be given the honor of competing against the world's most secretive high stakes player. The pair sat down at four $50/$100 heads-up No Limit Hold'em tables to play 2,500 hands and Haxton come out victorious much to the chagrin of Isildur1 fans.
Isildur1 took an early lead in the face off. After 45 minutes of play and 372 hands he was up $11,650 but as the first hour of play came to a close the two engaged in a raising war that allowed Haxton to cut Isildur1's lead down to a mere $316 after 536. Now in control, Haxton pulled out a $16,500 lead by hand 820 but Isildur1 reclaimed the lead when he won a massive $34,300 pot. By hand 1,124, Isildur1 held a sizeable $12,550 lead and managed to nearly double that margin over the course of the next 118 hands.
With just over 1,000 hands to go, Isildur1 was sitting pretty with $31,099 in profits but then Haxton began to make a comeback. After winning three large pots, Isildur1's lead was down to a mere $1,299 in profits and it wasn't long before Haxton took back the lead leaping to $10,151 in profits with 471 hands left to go. Frustrated, Isildur1 upped the ante and began wagering very aggressively. This proved to be his down fall however when with just 150 hands left to go he lost a $26,500 pot. As the final 100 hands ticked down he dug himself deeper and deeper losing three massive pots including the largest of the game. When the challenge was complete, Haxton logged off with $41,701 in profits and the honor of being the first to take out the legendary online player.
No word yet on when Isildur1's true identity will be revealed but another Isildur1 SuperStar Showdown is expected to take place following the PCA.
