Jonathan Duhamel Tops Current 2012 Player of the Year Rankings

Even though the end of 2011 didn’t go quite as planned for Jonathan Duhamel, this year is getting off to a really great start.

The 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion was beat up and stolen from in December but is now kicking butt himself on the 2012 Player of the Year list.

Usually by this time in January it is the winner of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure who comes out on top of the list but thanks to a total of three cashes worth 100 points per piece, Duhamel has taken the lead.

He managed to win the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em side event at the PCA for $240,000, finished second at the High Roller Event and final tabled the Super High Roller event as well. This puts him at 519.60 points for the year so far.

This puts him well ahead in the race. John Dibella, the PCA Main Event winner this year comes in next with 427.5 points and then comes Kyle Julius with 299.25 points.

These results are expected to change as the results come next week from the Aussie Millions and the Million Dollar Heater.
