Poker Hall of Fames Class of 2010 Has 181 Nominees and is Still Accepting Nominations

WSOP.com is still accepting nominations for the Poker Hall of Fame Class of 2010. From now until August 31st, players can vote for their favorite pros via the official website of the WSOP by entering their information, the name of their nominee and the reasons for their choice.

On September 1st the names of the top 10 nominees will be sent to a nomination committee for review and by mid-September the 16 living Poker Hall of Fame members and a small media panel will get to decide who makes it in to the Hall of Fame this year.

Speaking on the nomination process, World Series of Poker (WSOP) Communications Director Seth Palansky told Poker News Daily, “It’s going well and we’ll have a good batch of candidates to mull over and see who gets in.”

The induction ceremony will take place during the November Nine weekend at the Rio in Las Vegas. Always the grand affair last year’s ceremony attracted more than 100 attendees and featured speeches from such top pros as Jack Binion, Tom McEvoy, T.J. Cloutier, and Mike Sexton

In order to qualify for induction, “A player must have played poker against acknowledged top competition; played for high-stakes; played consistently well, gaining the respect of peers; stood the test of time; or, for non-players, contributed to the overall growth and success of the game of poker with indelible positive and lasting results.”

Just a few of the names expected on the ballot include Phil Ivey, McEvoy, Daniel Negreanu, Erik Seidel, Dan Harrington, Scotty Nguyen, Men “The Master” Nguyen, and Barry Greenstein.

Your opinion matters so make it count. Visit WSOP.com today and submit your vote for the Poker Hall of Fame. Time is running out so don’t miss the chance to support your favorite pro. Vote today
