PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour Heads to Argentina in a Few Weeks

This year’s Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) will wrap up in a few days with the Grand final in Rosario but many are already celebrating. The tournament series announced that this year was the most successful year in the series history with more than $3,500,000 in prize money awarded, three new champions crowned, and for the first time ever a double champion crowned.

Three new stops were added to this year’s series. The tour took a trip to the Peruvian capital of Lima for the first time in June and then headed eastward into Brazil last month to host an event at Florianopolis’ stunning beach resort. The best is still yet to come however as the tour prepares to make its final stop in Rosario, Argentina a city filled with beauty and excitement including some of the most luxurious casinosin South America.

The Main Event will run from September 23rd to the 26th at the City Center Casino and to celebrate PokerStars will be throwing a lavish party leading up to the event.

"I don't think we could get better than this," said David Carrion LAPT President "The beautiful city of Rosario; the fantastic City Center Casino; hundreds of the best players in the world, all making for a fitting finale to what has been a truly memorable year on the LAPT."

Players can still qualify for the event on PokerStars.net. The free to play site will be giving away several travel packages that include the buy-in to the main event, accommodations and money towards travel expenses.

"It is going to be a fantastic finale for LAPT season three," said Team PokerStars Argentina Pro Leo Fernandez. "Argentina has great players and this prestigious event is going to have an outstanding presentation and playing field. City Center is quite a setting. It is going to be the most important poker tournament in all of South America".

Running alongside the main event will be several side events. The schedule boasts Bounty events, $2k events, re-buy tournaments, a 6-max event, and a ladies event as well as several charity events.
