Russian Wins European Masters of Poker Prague

DUBLIN, July 2 /PRNewswire/ --

- Vladislav Shuravin Takes Down EMOP Prague; Barcelona Qualifiers Underway

Vladislav Shuravin from Russia has won the third European Masters of Poker in Czech capital Prague topping a field of 163 players at the Spearmint Casino at the weekend. After a deal had been done, Shuravin took down EUR39,675 for his victory from a total prize pool of EUR163,000.

The final table included EMOP Bulgaria winner Reuven Dayan:

    Seat 1. Reuven Dayan (ISR) - 204,000
    Seat 2. Petr Pesko (CZ) - 586,000
    Seat 3. Henrik Johansson (SWE) - 239,000
    Seat 4. Ted Magnusson (SWE) - 197,500
    Seat 5. Kim Frolander (SWE) - 168,000
    Seat 6. Vladislav Shuravin (RUS) - 410,500
    Seat 7. Jukka Ylinen (FIN) - 346,500
    Seat 8. Martin Hjorth (DEN) - 244,000
    Seat 9. Emil Westman (SWE) - 200,500

Kim Frolander was first out, pushing all in and getting called by Dayan. He showed K-Q off suit to Dayan's A-T off suit with the Israeli hitting an ace on the turn.

Henrik Johansson's first move at the table was an all in shove for 191,000 after Dayan's 37,000 under the gun bet. Johansson held J-J against Daya's A-K suited. The flop was A-5-5 hurtling the EMOP Bulgaria winner into the lead but an 8c gave Johansson a flush draw. It was false hope however as a brick on the river sank his challenge and he was out in eighth.

Ted Magnusson finished seventh having raised to 41,000 from the button, running into Jukka Ylinen's reraise to 253,000 and calling. Jukka showed K-K and the Swede showed A-8. The flop came 9-6-2, the turn 10, giving Magnusson the seven as an out, but a king on the river sealed his fate.

Reuven Dayan was the next casualty. Ylinen raised to 46,000 from early position. The Israeli went all-in from the small blind with 176,000. The Finn called with A-Q, dominating his opponent's K-Q suited which got no help from the board.

At this stage the players took a break and decided on a deal with each player guaranteed fifth place and the rest of the payouts determined by the size of their chip stacks.

    The final table payouts were:

    1. Vladislav Shuravin - EUR39,675
    2. Petr Pesko - EUR29,819
    3. Martin Hjorth - EUR41,146
    4. Jukka Ylinen - EUR28,837
    5. Emil Westman - EUR23,021
    6. Reuven Dayan - EUR10,300
    7. Ted Magnusson - EUR8,772
    8. Henrik Johansson - EUR7,224
    9. Kim Frolander - EUR5,676
