Tom "durrrr' Dwan Tells Ivey to Put His Money Where His Mouth Is

Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Phil Ivey made an interesting proposition to each other on the latest episode of High Stakes Poker on GSNTV. During the hour long episode the two players hashed out a $1 million bet on whether or not Ivey could go “vegetarian” for a year.

According to an interview the Full Tilt Pro had already been contemplating the idea of becoming a vegetarian for awhile so he figured the bet would just give him the push he needed to get started and stay committed to the change. With this idea in mind that Ivey initially tried to push Dwan into upping their bet to $2 million but lucky for him this attempt was unsuccessful.

According to Card Player magazine, Dwan told Sammy George that Ivey has already tried to buy out of the bet. Removing meat from ones diet can be very challenging especially when one doesn’t make the change gradually. You can’t blame Ivey for trying though. Hopefully he somehow manages to stick with it. The first few months are always the worst but it’s pretty much easy sailing from that point. If not then maybe he’ll remember to keep the betting to what he’s good at, poker.
