Cake Poker to Launch New Unabomber Poker Room

Some poker player's great success and abundant talent for the game have landed them an online poker room which bares their name. This is true of poker legend Doyle Brunson atDoylesRoom.com, David “The Devilfish” Ulliot atDevilfishPoker.com and Tony G’s TonyGPoker.com.

Earlier this week the Cake Poker Network announced that it too would be following in their footsteps by introducing Unabomber Poker in honor of Phil “The Unabomber” Laak. His own room will be joining the cake poker network and will bear the name which is most commonly used for Laak in the poker community. As part of the new site, The Unabomber himself will get in on the action at the site as well as keep players entertained with a blog available through the website.

Even though the launch of Unabomber Poker is taking the spotlight, the Cake Poker Network is also launching a number of other online poker rooms in conjunction with Laak’s poker room. These sites include 7Win Poker, Redback Poker, Amsterdam’s Poker, Safari Poker, Dimeline, Rags2Riches Poker and Burro Poker.

During the announcement of the new venture, Laak seemed quite excited about his brand new poker room. “We knew we wanted to launch the sickest poker site possible,” said Laak. “By joining a network that focuses on player rewards and accepts players worldwide, we knew we would be starting out on the right track. I love getting involved from the ground up.”

A spokesperson for the Cake Poker Network was also there and stated, “The addition of Unibomber Poker to the Cake Network is a cause for great excitement. Phil’s enthusiasm for the game is infectious and brings a great energy to the network.”

Now that the Cake Poker Network has added these eight new online poker rooms to their list of sites, they now run a total of 55 poker websites. One of those most popular on the network is definitelyDoylesRoom.com.  The network is in the top 10 when it comes to real money traffic. PokerScout.com shows the network to bring in on average 2,100 real money ring game players a day.

As part of the Cake Poker Network, Unabomber Poker features amenities that everyone has come to expect of one of their sites including Gold Chips and Gold Cards that can be used to get cash, online store merchandise, or free admission to tournaments. In addition, players at Unabomber will be able to take advantage of the rewarding monthly grand event, the $250,000 Guaranteed Tournament.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Laak, he is one of the most active players in today’s poker community and his personality at the table makes him well liked by many. He first emerged into poker pro status in 2004 when he won the WPT Invitational at Commerce Casino and has continued to make an impression in the game ever since.

The following year Laak was the runner up in the WSOP $2500 Pot Limit Hold’em event when he played heads up against multi-bracelet winner Johnny Chan. Since he first exploded onto the poker scene 6 year ago, Laak has made over $1.8 million dollars in live tournament winnings.
