Dan Cates AKA Jungleman12 Admits to Multi-Accounting
2010’s biggest online poker winner, Dan “Jungleman12” Cates has just admitted to using multiple accounts using several different screen names. The behavior which is completely against the rules of online poker also involves Jose “Girah” Macedo and Haseeb Qureshi.
The poker community became curious about some fishy looking accounts which led to Vanessa Selbst and Noah Stephens-Davidowitz interviewing Cates regarding the matter. He then confessed to playing on accounts registered to other players, Macedo and Qureshi.
Dan Cates denies ever multi-accounting on Full Tilt or Pokerstars, where he made the majority of his profit.
This is what he said in a portion of the confession:
“Haseeb tried to salvage my reputation by taking the fall for me. In retrospect that worked out completely terrible. As far as me playing on [Macedo’s] accounts, there must have been four sessions. Those were all me.”
