Erick Lindgren was born and raised in the small town of Burney, California and now resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lindgren played basketball in high school and in college but soon realized that his career path would be poker. He played in an Indian casino in his hometown for fun and soon landed a job there as a Blackjack dealer. Lindgren learned a lot from the time he spent at the tables and soon developed a knack for the game of poker. He became a “propositional player” in a San Pablo casino where he was hired to play at the tables to keep the game exciting. Before he knew it, he had become a very good poker player and decided to try his luck in tournaments.
In 2002, at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Lindgren won his first major tournament. He followed that up 10 months later with a win at the World Poker Tour. Half a year later he won the WPT PartyPoker Million III taking home a million dollar first place prize. Lindgren began 2005 off right finishing in second place at the World Series of Poker circuit event in Atlantic City. The following month he took fifth place in the WPT LA Poker Classic and then only days later he won the Professional Poker Tour tournament in LA also.
In 2006 and 2007 he continued to do well winning $600k in the FullTiltPoker.net Poker Pro Showdown event where he beat poker pros Mike Matusow, Erik Seidel, John Juanda, Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey. After that he won the AUD 1 million first place prize in the 2007 Aussie Millions.
Lindgren wrote a book “World Poker Tour: Making the Final Table,” where he shares his strategy for winning poker tournaments. As a member of team Full Tilt, Lindgren hosted the 2008 FTOPS Event #9. He also participated in the tournament with a playing field of over 5,600 players. Lindgren won the tournament making him the first Full Tilt pro to win a FTOPS event that they hosted.
Eric won his first WSOP bracelet in June 2008, when he took on Justin Bonomo in a heads-up game. Erick Lindgren has made over 7 million dollars in live tournament winnings with 23 of those cashes being from the WSOP and 16 from the World Poker Tour. When Lindgren isn’t busy at the poker tables, he likes to hang with his friends, shoot pool and sports.
