Eugene Katchalov

Born February 21, 1981 in Kiev, Ukraine, Eugene Katchalov and his family moved to the US when he was 10. Like most poker pros he first took an interest in poker while in college but it wasn't until after he graduated from New York University that he really start playing poker full time.

After playing poker online for a few years he announced that he was going pro in 2003 and then less than a year later he had his first major cash at the Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas and made a deep run in the World Poker Tour (WPT) Main Event. Over the next few years he would cash several times on the European Poker Tour (EPT) and at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) but it wasn't until 2007 that he really started to make a name for himself winning a major event, the Bellagio Cup and his first WPT title. In 2008 and 2009 he final tabled twice at the WSOP, once on the EPT and once on the WPT. In 2010 he final tabled three times at the WSOP for more than half a million dollars and 2011 he won $1.5 million taking down the Super High Rollers event at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.  With earnings of more than $6 million to date he is one of the most feared and well respected players in the industry.

Katchalov may not have many titles to his name but his consistent performances have allowed him to earn more than a lot of title holders out there. We have no doubt more titles will be in the cards for him in the coming years.
