Greg Raymer

Greg Raymer grew up as a military child, moving from North Dakota to Michigan and then Florida to Missouri. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, a Master’s degree in Biochemistry, and a J.D. Before becoming a professional in the poker world, he was a patent attorney for a litigation law firm in Chicago. He then went on to work as a biotechnology patent preparation and prosecution attorney. Eventually sick of the legal field, he later decided to work for a pharmaceutical company. While working, Raymer made extra money by playing blackjack at various casinos. In Chicago he moved on to poker, realizing that it was more readily available. He quickly gained skills and became known as one of the best local tournament players at Foxwoods. In 2004 he became the WSOP World Champion. Currently he works for PokerStars as a representative. He travels the world playing in all of the major poker tournaments and endorsing a variety of poker related products.
