POKER PLAYERS PRO
Jason Mercier

Name: Jason Mercier
Winnings to Date: $5,295,837
Jason Mercier is easily one of the most talented young poker pros to hit the scene. While attending high school in his home town of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Mercier was introduced to poker by his friends and quickly realized that he had some talent.
He started grinding online to pay his way through college but once he realized that he could make big money playing poker he decided to put his dream of being a math teacher on hold to pursue poker full time. In 2008, that decision paid off when he took down the European Poker Tour (EPT) San Remo event for $1.3 million and the $20K EPT London High Roller event for $944K.
After cashing several times at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) he earned his first bracelet in 2009 winning the $1500 Pot Limit Omaha event. That same year he became one of the November Nine for the WSOP Main Event ultimately finishing in fourth for $425K.
So far this year Mercier has already won the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Mohegan Sun $25K High Roller Shootout event for $475K and the $1,050 No Limit Hold’em World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) event for $435,862.
Asked what he’d like to achieve next Mercier has said his ultimate goal is to become one of the few players to earn the Poker Triple Crown. Having produced impressive results every year since he went pro it seems such a goal is certainly within his reach. After all he has already earned two of the three titles.
