Buzz Up!Jerry Yang is best known for his amazing $8.25 million win at the 2007 WSOP Main Event. What many may not know is that he’s only been playing poker for two years. In 1968 Yang was born in Laos, California. After completing a master’s degree in health psychology, he became a psychologist and social worker. In 2007, at his local California casino, he bought a $225 satellite buy-in to a seat at the World Series of Poker. The rest is history. After winning the main event, Yang donated 10% of his winnings to three charities: The Make-A-Wish Foundation, Feed the Children and the Ronald McDonald House. He also donated some funds to his alma mater, Loma Linda University.
