Shannon Elizabeth

Born in Houston, Texas, Shannon Elizabeth, was introduced to poker at an early age but never took up playing professionally until later in life. When she was young she dreamed of being an actress and after finding her way into a music video that was being shot in the Houston area, she was offered a job as a model and after graduating high school she quickly packed up her bags and moved to New York hoping to transition to acting once she had established herself in the industry. After a few years of modeling, she headed to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career and shortly thereafter she landed a role in American Pie, which opened up a lot of doors for her. Since then, she has starred in such high grossing films as Scary Movie and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and has appeared in Playboy and Dancing With the Stars.

While living in Hollywood, Shannon got the opportunity to meet many poker pros and became friends with  Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak and Jennifer Tilly who helped her develop her Texas Hold'em poker skills. In 2005 she began competing in Celebrity poker tournaments and it wasn't long before she started winning many celebrity events. In 2006 she cashed three times at the WSOP and landed a sponsorship deal with Full Tilt Poker. Over the years she has switched sponsorship several times representing DoylesRoom for a short while before finally settling on Carbon Poker. Though she does win events regularly, Shannon normally plays in celebrity and charity tournaments which aren't recognized when it comes to live tournament rankings. Shannon's true passion is acting and she considers poker to be her second career which is one of the reasons she hasn't really blossomed as a player. If she ever decides to put her focus exclusively on poker we have no doubt that she could be quite successful.
