Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker is Fastest Growing App on Facebook

The Chinese language version of the incredibly popular Facebook app, Texas Hold’em Poker by Zynga has exploded this week to become the fastest growing brand on Facebook. The game gained nearly $1.3 million fans this past week on the world’s largest social networking site.

Texas Hold'em is by far one of the most popular poker games around. Made popular by movies and TV shows, the game has spread around the world. Texas Hold'em is a community card game where players compete to get the best hand. According to history, the game was invented in the early 1900's in Robstown, Texas. Called only Hold'em at the time, it quickly became popular throughout Texas and eventually in Las Vegas, where a group of gamblers took it. The Golden Nugget Casino in downtown Vegas was, at the time, the only casino that offered the game.
