One of the most well known poker players on the face of the earth, Doyle Brunson AKA Texas Dolly took the time to speak with me at PokerShark.com for a one on one interview. Little did I know that he would open my eyes to a whole other world of poker that has since been replaced by the major tournaments and virtual tables on the internet.

Today is Pearl Harbor Day. I remember it well when as an 8-year-old farmboy, my parents called me in to listen to the news on our old radio. War is such a terrible thing, we sometimes forget how costly it is in money and lives. I remember reading how we lost more American lives in Gettysburg than we lost in the entire Vietnam War. The Civil War was really dumb.

Doyle Brunson Confirmed for World Series of Poker Europe

There's nothing more synonymous with the World Series of Poker than Doyle Brunson. Having played in dozens of WSOP events since its inception, the poker legend has confirmed that he will be continuing his record by entering the 3rd annual WSOPE in the UK this September.
"I never miss a World Series of Poker and I'm certainly not going to miss the next big one in Europe," said Doyle Brunson. "I'm really looking forward to heading over there again this fall and taking a bracelet back to America."

Although the 2009 World Series of Poker is still underway, some big names have left the competition.
On Saturday Chris Moneymaker and Doyle Brunson left the competition. Brunson stated, “WSOP 2009 is over for me. It’s disappointing, but also a sense of relief. Now back to the real world.”

Odds to Make the 2009 WSOP Final Table

Although predictions are already pouring in when it comes to WSOP Player of the Year, it’s unsure if those players will transform their success into a main event win.
For instance, the 2009 WSOP odds to make the final table (played on November 7) don’t list Jeff Lisandro or Ville Wahlbeck, even though both men top the leaderboard this week.

Despite his recent bad luck and other poker pros trying desperately to break his record, Phil Hellmuth still holds on to the record for most bracelets won at the World Series of Poker.
Poker pro Johnny “The Orient Express” Chan tried winning his 11th career WSOP championship gold bracelet this year, tying Phil “Poker Brat” Hellmuth Jr., but he fell short. Chan, instead, remains at second place, with Doyle “Texas Dolly” Brusnon with 10 right behind him.

According to Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu is sure to be named the 2009 WSOP Poker Player of the Year.
"Every time I look, Daniel is deep in a tournament," Doyle commented. "Looks like he will be Player of the Year at the WSOP...Congrats (Daniel)…Good job!!"
